James River Power Station Building Exterior Upgrades

Masonry repairs of the main plant building, located at the James River Power Station at 5107 South Kissick, as specified in the contract specifications and drawings.

Contractor is to perform time critical work on the 56′-10″ high masonry wall behind station service unit #1 and step up transformer #3 between 2/25 and 4/20. Highest priority work is the rebuilding of the parapet brick veneer between column lines 9 and 11 for Base Bid No. 1 and between column lines 11 and 14 for Base Bid No. 2. Base Bid No. 3 is the removal of a metal louver on the south side of the building and masonry infill of opening. This work is a part of the contract but is not time critical.

Work defined as Bid Alternate No. 1 and No. 2, which includes miscellaneous brick replacement and tuckpointing between column lines 9 and 11 and between column lines 11 and 14, should attempt to be accomplished between 2/25 and 4/20. Work defined as Bid Alternate No. 3, which includes miscellaneous brick replacement and tuckpointing between column lines 15 and 18 should attempt to be accomplished between 4/29 and 5/9. Bid Alternate Work is subject to time limitations set forth by City Utilities, and may not be part of the contract if time runs out before work can be accomplished. Contractor is asked to provide allowances and unit prices for miscellaneous brick replacement and tuckpointing.
