All endorsed “Proposals” for construction shall be mailed to or delivered to the attention of Rob Rector at the Ozarks Technical Community College Campus (main campus), 1001 E. Chestnut Expressway, Springfield, Missouri 65802, no later than 2:00 p.m., CDT, Friday, September 10, 2010 (time shall be determined by the clock in the Board Room). A public bid opening will be held at that time in the Information Commons Board Room and bids will be opened and tabulated. Bids received after 2:00 p.m. shall be returned unopened.

Drawings and Specifications and related contract information may be obtained beginning August 23, 2010, from the Springfield Blueprint Co. online plan room www.spfdblue.com at cost of printing. Plans and specifications may also be reviewed at the office of Pellham-Phillips Architects & Engineers, 1111 South Glenstone, Suite 300, Springfield, MO 65804, 417-865-1672.

The bidder understands that Ozarks Technical Community College reserves the right to award the contract to the lowest responsible bidder and to reject any or all bids and / or to waive any technicalities or informalities in the bidding.

BID SECURITY: Bids are to be submitted on the Bid Form issued with the Construction Documents and must be accompanied by a Bid Guarantee (Bid Bond) equivalent to five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid. See Instructions to Bidders for additional information. Surety/Bonding Company must be acceptable to the Owner and be authorized to transact business in the state of Missouri.

• PERFORMANCE BOND AND PAYMENT BOND: A Performance Bond and Payment Bond are required of the successful Bidder in the amount of 100 percent of the contract.
• PRE-BID CONFERENCE: A pre-bid conference is scheduled for 2:00 p.m., August 31, 2010, at the OTC Springfield Campus, Information Commons Board Room.
• SCHEDULE: Bidders must submit a Work Schedule with their Bid.
• BID PERIOD: August 23, 2010 through September 10, 2010.
• PREVAILING WAGES: Prevailing wages shall be paid in accordance with the Supplementary Instructions to Bidders.
• TAX EXEMPT STATUS: This project requires application of tax exempt status on behalf of the Owner.
• PROJECT COMPLETION:  Work for this project must be substantially complete by June 1, 2011. Liquidated damages of $1,500 per calendar day will apply after this date.
