MSU Construction Look Ahead – April 2015

MSU CONSTRUCTION LOOK AHEAD – APRIL 2015

The following list of projects are planned to be released for bidding within the next three months.  We offer this list in an effort to let others know what Missouri State University has in the works for construction projects.  The list is provided in chronological order by their bid date.  Several of these items are marked with tentative bid dates.  We encourage you to follow the latest schedule for projects that will be bidding on our website at: Construction Look Ahead – Planning, Design & Construction – Missouri State University.  The listing on the website will be the most up-to-date information.  Any project that does not appear in the list below that develops to the point of needing to bid it within the next three months will be added to the website.

2015 ADA Modifications

Project Description: Modifications are being made around campus to improve accessibility for all. These include changes to plumbing conditions and interior work. Work is to be accomplished during the summer of 2015.

Glass Hall 437

Project Description: Renovate Glass Hall Room 437 to convert it from faculty lounge to the College of Business Computer Complex. The converted space shall consist of 4 (four) small offices for personnel and a common open area. In addition, the project will involve the altering of the existing mechanical HVAC and electrical systems to accommodate the new function of the space.

Modifications for Freezer, Garst Dining Center

Additional freezer storage space is needed at the Garst Dining Center.  In order to accommodate a new outdoor freezer, a new pad will be provided and existing site features modified as required.  Work for the project includes expansion of an existing screen wall, a new concrete pad and electrical service for operation of a new freezer.  Work would be accomplished during the summer of 2015.

Relocate Sanitary Sewer – Meyer Library

Project Description: Relocate the sanitary sewer at Meyer Library. The project relocates approximately 200 feet of sanitary sewer from Meyer Library, installs 1 new manhole and restores pavement. Construction is slated to occur early summer 2015.  This work is being done in anticipation of the Glass Hall Addition and Renovation project.

Project Description: Bids will be accepted for an annual contract which will allow the University to accomplish plumbing repairs and replacements on an on-call basis.  The cumulative total of all individual projects under this contract may not exceed $200,000 per fiscal year.  This annual contract allows for two additional one-year renewals.  Work under this contract may be done on University properties located in Douglas, Greene, Howell, Jasper, Laclede, Newton, Polk, Taney, Webster, and Wright counties.

Tornado Community Storm Shelter

Project Description: This project constructs a FEMA rated safe room west of the existing Sunvilla Tower residence hall.

The University continues working on the addition and renovation to Glass Hall.  The schedule calls for this project to be released for bidding in August, 2015 with a bid date in September and an award during our homecoming celebration in October.  Construction will be allowed to commence immediately with an anticipated completion date of July 2017.  More information will be provided on this project as it develops.
