MSU Construction Look Ahead for February 2015
Continuing the notice of upcoming projects here at Missouri State University, here are the projects that we will be bidding over the next 3 months. The projects are arranged in chronological order by their bid date. There is always a chance a project will get inserted into this list due to circumstances unknown at this time. All projects that are being bid are available through our website at: Plans Available for Bidding. I would encourage you to check this website for the latest with respect to projects bidding and their bid date.
The projects we have currently planned are:
Solar Stop, Meyer Library
Project Description: The installation of four steel canopies placed over the existing bicycle ribbon racks South of Meyer Library. Each canopy will support a small solar array intended to produce electricity that will be returned to Meyer Library and provide shelter for the existing bicycle racks. This work will be accomplished during the spring of 2015.

Temple Lab Renovation
Project Description: Renovation of several existing laboratory spaces in Temple Hall. Project
includes new casework and fume hood in several locations. MEP systems will be modified to
support the new laboratory configuration. Work would be accomplished during the summer of
2015.

Estimated Construction Cost: $2.5 Million

New Office Finishes at Glass Hall
Project Description: Renovation of existing office spaces including the removal and
replacement of existing carpet and base along with the repainting of all surfaces. 130 existing
offices will be renovated under this project in Glass Hall. Work would be accomplished during
the summer of 2015.

Hammons Transitway
Project Description: Construct a multimodal transitway along John Q. Hammons Boulevard
between Grand and Bear Avenue. Transitway will include an dedicated bus lane, bike paths,
sidewalks and landscaping. Work would be accomplished during the summer of 2015.

Estimated Construction Cost: $400,000.00

Tunnel Repairs
Project Description: Repair and/or replacement of existing structural concrete lids on campus
utility tunnels. Work would be accomplished during the summer of 2015. Work would be

Estimated Construction Cost: $400,000.00

Third Floor Renovation, Craig Hall
Project Description: New finishes are to be applied to existing surfaces in order to provide for
better wayfinding on the third floor of Craig Hall. New signage and lighting will be a part of this
project. Work would be accomplished during the summer of 2015.

Interior Renovation, Phase III, Plaster Student Union
Project Description: The parliamentary room in the Plaster Student Union will be renovated
under this interior project. The finishes within the room will be updated and improvements will
be made in the ability to have electronic presentations within the room. Work would be
accomplished during the summer of 2015.

Estimated Construction Cost: $245,000

Blair-Shannon Dining Center Renovation
Project Description: A reworking of the serving lines is planned for this limited renovation
project. Modifications to the serving lines to allow for better traffic flow and access to different
foods is planned. Work would be accomplished during the summer of 2015.

Estimated Construction Cost: $225,000

Award of Contract: April 15, 2015
Start of Construction: June 1, 2015
Testing & Assessment Center, Meyer Library
Project Description: A new testing and assessment center will be constructed within the
confines of the existing library spaces. This renovation will occur on the lower level in the
original building. In addition, new office spaces will be created for the consolidation of
departments from campus to the library. Work would be accomplished during the summer of
2015.

Estimated Construction Cost: $700,000

2015 ADA Modifications
Project Description: Modifications are being made around campus to improve accessibility for all. These include changes to restrooms, hardware, and exterior work. Work is to be accomplished during the summer of 2015.
