2017 SCA Summer Golf Tournament Results

It was a soggy morning but it cleared off beautifully for the 144 golfers who came to play last Friday at Island Green. Forty nine sponsors helped us to clear around $8,000 which will help the association. Everyone enjoyed the bbq for lunch and the beverages flowed freely. Thanks to Regina and Beverly who helped make the day so successful.

Paul Hulett, the Golf Chairman, kept the coolers full and the carts moving so well that no one complained they “hadn’t seen a beverage cart in hours!”  We appreciate the help we received from all our other volunteers who contributed their time and talents dispensing cool snacks and drinks to the thirsty golfers: Michael Eddings, Steve Baer, Clarence Collister, Miles Boyer, Georgia Powell, Bryant Doss, Tracy Watkins, Cheryl Zielke, Lyndall Magers, Dave Robertson, Jeremy Ray, Allen Schroeder and Kara Turner.

Miles Boyer and Calob Cotner raised $1316 for the Endowment Fund by selling “free shots” on hole  #18. Half the skins money is also dedicated to the Endowment Fund. Nixon & Lindstrom Insurance, Purple Wave and Guaranty Bank provided koozies and tees. Springfield Blue donated the laminated sponsor signs.
