Meet us at the Fair (grounds)! 

We will again enjoy our summer picnic on the northeast corner of the Fairgrounds. Most people appreciated the shorter drive to get there and get home and the shade and soft breezes kept the site more comfortable than the sweltering heat we used to suffer down by the river.

It’s never too soon to volunteer! It takes a lot of time and effort to achieve the success we enjoy with our biggest fundraiser and we rely on everyone for help. Pig Roast Chairmen Danny Edwards and Rick Sherrill and the core committee are counting on our members to make the event more pleasurable for our guests every year. It takes about 40 reliable volunteers the day of the Pig Roast to pull all the pieces together to serve our guests who enjoy the food, beverages and fun we share. We need workers for the hospitality table, the food lines and closing duties (everyone can’t have the first shift). Call the office – 862-1313 – to put your name on our list of helpers and choose your workstation and shift time. WE NEED YOU!

First, we need members to help spread the word. If you visit lots of job sites and offices, please get some post cards from the office and hand them out. If your business has a lot of walk-in traffic, please hand out the invitation to each customer. For example, Engineers Reprographics and Springfield Blue Print & Photo Copy include a flyer with every set of plans they send out. Just like the Advance Men of old-time circus days, we need you to help us make sure everyone knows about the Pig Roast.
