MSU 3 Month Look Ahead

Below are the current project scheduled to be bid over the next 3 months.  Please use this email as a guide as schedules do change and additional project can be added during this time period.  The most up-to-date information can be found at: Construction Look Ahead – Planning, Design & Construction – Missouri State University.

 

Remodel Front Desk, Sunvilla 
Project Description:  Renovate the front desk area of Sunvilla Tower to provide better accessibility to guests, increased visibility, improved work area and provide a storage area for the staff.
Estimated Construction Cost:  $35,000
Issue for Bid:  July 5, 2016
Bid Opening:  July 14, 2016
Award of Contract:  July 15, 2016
Start of Construction:  Upon Award

Renovation, Ellis Hall 
Project Description:  A complete renovation of this academic building is planned. The building will be fully vacated to allow full use of the facility by the contractor during the renovation. The existing asbestos is being removed and will be gone prior to the project being turned over to the contractor. The project is to be complete prior to the fall semester in 2017.

Renovation, Meyer Library
Project Description:  This project is a continued follow-up on previous modifications made to Meyer Library. The scope of work to be included in these modifications include: move Research & Instructional Services to the existing Government Reference. Remodel existing space into a Veterans Lounge, consisting of offices for support staff and relocate acquisitions into newly constructed offices on the lowest floor to the first.

Replace Exhaust Fan, Room 119, Kemper Hall
Project Description:  The project includes the removal of an existing roof-top-mounted laboratory exhaust fan, and a new fan will be provided at an adjacent location. Bracing will be added to the existing roof structure. New curb, flashing, and electrical service will also be provided.

Health and Wellness Center

Project Description: The Taylor Health and Wellness Center will be deconstructed, and a new health and wellness facility will be located on the current site. The new building will be a three-story facility with approximately 36,000 SF and will include a drive-up window for the pharmacy.

Improve District Chilled Water System, Campus Utilities, Phase II

Project Description:  The project includes an addition to the existing chiller building on Cherry Street and a new 1,000-ton water-cooled chiller, cooling tower, pumps, piping, and associated support items

Consultant:  Ross & Baruzzini

Estimated Construction Cost:  $1,700,000

Issue for Bid:  October 27, 2016
Bid Opening:  November 10, 2016
Award of Contract:  November 16, 2015
Start of Construction:  November 26, 2015

 

The university continues to work on many significant projects not listed here that will be available for general construction bids this coming year.  As always, we really do appreciate all those involved with our projects because each and every one of you are helping us to build a better Missouri State University.
