MSU 3-Month Look Ahead – December

Happy December, everyone! This three-month look ahead is out a bit later this month, as we have been working on projects we will be bidding next year. By the time you read this, two projects have been bid in our office this week:  An installation of a parking car count system at our Bear Park North facility, and the relocation of a bus shelter necessitated by the start of construction at Glass Hall on our campus.

 

The single project we currently have scheduled for bidding includes:

 

Security Camera On-Call Contract

 

Project Description: Initiate an annual contract to allow the installation of security cameras, blue light telephones, electronic door access, and alarm security systems along with all design and programming required to support the installation of the aforementioned items. The cumulative total of this annual contract may not exceed $250,000 during each fiscal year. The annual contract shall have four annual renewal options for a total five year annual contract.

 

Consultant:  Planning, Design & Construction

Estimated Construction Cost:  $250,000.00

Issue for Bid:  December 10, 2015

Bid Opening:  January 7, 2016

Award of Contract:  January 20, 2016

 

 

Some of the projects that will be coming out after the first of the year and their tentative bid dates include:

 

  • Bathroom Renovations, Blair House – $1,200,000 estimate. Bids in March.
  • District Chilled Water Improvements, Phase I – Campus – $1,000,000 estimate. Bids in March.
  • Fire Alarm Replacement, Hutchens House – $175,000 estimate. Bids in March.
  • Fire Protection Improvements, West Plains Campus – $180,000 estimate. Bids in March.
  • Kitchen Renovation, Professional Building – $100,000 estimate. Bids in March.
  • ADA Improvements, Springfield Campus – $800,000 estimate. Bids in March.
  • Mechanical Improvements, Hutchens House and Blair-Shannon – $225,000 estimate. Bids in March.
  • New Elevator and Egress Stair, Kentwood Hall – $1,200,000 estimate. Bids in March/April.

 

As you can see, our first quarter will be another busy period as we prepare for the upcoming summer break.  As more information becomes available on these projects, the estimates and actual bid dates will be published. Don’t be surprised that these bid dates may move around a bit as we look to coordinate bid dates.  Should you want any additional information on any of these projects, please contact our office at 417-836-5101.

 

As the year closes, it has been a busy year for our department and the University with respect to design and construction activities. We want each of you to know we are very thankful for the hard work the construction community puts into our projects. We have made many great improvements this year to our campus. While we do not get the opportunity to thank each and everyone one of you, please know that what you do does make a difference, and it is appreciated.
