Update on Salute Kick-Off Mixer

Damp Weather Couldn’t Put a Damper on the 2013 Salute Proclamation Ceremony and Kick-off Mixer!

The Proclamation Ceremony to kick off Salute 2013 was held October 29 at the Farmers Market Pavilion in Farmers Park. Nearly 70 people attended the event after the rain finally let up. The vinyl weather walls, heaters and lights made the Pavilion a dry, warm spot for enjoying the tributes to the design and construction industry and the cash bar and tasty hors d’oeuvres from Metropolitan Grill. Owner/Developer Matt O’Reilly discussed his vision for the site and assisted Killian Construction employees by leading tours of the nearly-completed retail/restaurant/office building. Thanks, also, to SCS Home Entertainment for use of the speaker system.

In addition, we thank Greene County Administrator Tim Smith, Springfield City Councilwoman Jan Fisk, Jared Taylor (representing U.S. Congressman Billy Long), and Missouri Representative (136th District) Kevin Austin for Proclamations and informal remarks in tribute to the design and construction industry.

SCA President David Foreman announced the three finalists for SCA Project Team of the Year: James River Assembly – West Campus, Mercy Orthopedic Hospital, and Schweitzer United Methodist Church – Outreach Center. The winner as well as the Developer of the Year will be announced at the Banquet on November 7.
