Generation Next Pro-Talk

Last Tuesday, Generation Next held their Fall Pro-Talk at the SCA Office. SCA President Aaron Harless (Springfield Ready Mix), Executive Director Megan Short, and Board Members Rick Quint (Q & Company) and David Foreman (APAC) answered questions pre-submitted by Generation Next about the past, present, and future of SCA.

Convoy of Hope Challenge

Last Friday was the official deadline for the SCA Cares Convoy of Hope Challenge. If your company would still like to be included, please contact Megan ASAP at 417-862-1313 or megan@springfieldcontractors.org. All contributing companies will be recognized at the Christmas Open House on Dec. 1.

Career Fairs & Speakers

Last Tuesday, several SCA members attended the Boys & Girls Club’s “Welcome to the Trades” Career Fair. High school age students and their parents were able to network with a variety of trade careers to learn more about opportunities and even apply for jobs. A special thank you to Generation Next’s Treasurer Steven Sparkman (Penmac) for representing the SCA & Generation Next booth!

Last Thursday, Ty Alexander (Terracon), Brady Bond (Branco), and Allen Hall (Branco) attended the Nixa Junior High Awareness Day to teach almost 300 students about the opportunities related to construction & trades. Also, Floyd (Design Fab) attended the Nixa High School Junior Career Day last Friday.

Upcoming Events with SCA

SCA Office Closed for Thanksgiving

The SCA Office will be closed on Thursday and Friday this week for Thanksgiving. The Office will reopen as usual on Monday, Nov. 27.

Christmas Open House

Save the date! The Christmas Open House will be Friday, December 1, from 4-7 p.m. at the SCA Office. Tickets are not required, so stop by anytime!
